How it works

We all have that tote of photos and tapes you, your parents, your grandma and aunts started storing at some point- and you barely get to look at them. You’ll scan them in one day. You’ll go through them one day…

Well, today’s that day. We will do it all for you! Come back in the next week or so to pick them up! We will put them on a flash drive/hard drive or upload them to a cloud service…or both! The goal is to make this as efficient for you as possible, with keeping the quality, and your sanity intact.

If you have purchased the Photo Groups add-on, you can separate groups of at least 60 photos using bags or rubber bands (about a 1/2 inch stack).

We preserve these groupings digitally by creating different folders for each group. These titled folders will appear on both your USB flash thumb drive and your cloud service.

Photo Requirements

Photos that do not meet these requirements may be skipped. Orders with too many unscannable photos will be canceled and returned to you uncompleted.

How to prepare your photos for scanning:

  • Remove all photos from albums (unless you paid for album removal), bags, envelopes, etc.

  • Organize your photos by size. Stack of all the 4x6 photos together, then the 5x7 photos, and so on.

  • Each photo should be facing up, and not folded.

Make sure there are no:

  • Staples

  • Paper clips

  • Tape (front and back)

  • Plastic photo covers

  • Glitter

  • Glue

Photos must be within the following dimensions to be scanned:

  • Maximum: 8.5 x 11 inches

Photos too large, too small, too thick, or too oddly shaped will not be scanned as we cannot guarantee the quality or the entire photo within the scan.

Cleaning

We recommend wiping down your photos before sending them in for the best possible image quality.

Groups

Grouping photos is an optional paid add-on for your order.

If you have purchased the Photo Groups add-on, you can separate groups using bags or rubber bands.

We preserve these groupings digitally by creating different folders for each group. These titled folders will appear on your USB flash thumb drives.

Each group must have a title.

  • Titles can be written on a sticky note or on the bag/envelope.

  • Titles can be anything, from “A” to ““Chris’ Wedding 1992”.

  • Titles cannot be longer than 30 characters.

We do not guarantee the order of photos within groups. Groups must follow the photo preparation guidelines, it’s especially important to sort photos by size.

Reverse Scanning

Reverse scanning is usually done on an automatic basis. Our machines detect handwriting or printed timestamps and will save a copy of the backs of photos.

Google Review

I was excited to have Evergreen Creative Company scan all of my family’s collection of photographs. Having this done preserves my family’s photographic heritage for generations to come. The quality of the scans were beyond my expectations and the time it took to have it done was quick and efficient. We trusted Evergreen Creative Company with dozens and dozens of pictures that reached back as far as the 1870’s. They took great care of each heirloom photograph as if it was their own. I would recommend them to anyone for their scanning needs, big or small.
